Required for September 2020
Leadership scale L18-L24

Our school has a strong Catholic ethos with a vibrant, wide and ambitious curriculum and vision for our children. We are proud to try to live out to the full our school motto “Let us protect with love all that God has given us” (Pope Francis 2103).

The Governing Body wishes to appoint an outstanding practising Catholic to provide inspirational leadership to continue to promote the many successes of our school. (OFSTED grade: ‘Good’ with outstanding features – July 2019; RE Section 48 Inspection ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ Catholic Life – July 2019).

What we offer:

• Supportive and experienced governors who are committed to school improvement
• An opportunity to lead a happy school with a family atmosphere in the beautiful and challenging city of Oxford
• Enthusiastic, positive and well-behaved children
• Dedicated staff who are willing to face new challenges
• A well-resourced school with generous grounds and facilities, where children’s interest in nature is shared and encouraged through Forest School, where music and singing fills the hall and corridors thanks to the wonderful work of our talented Music Teachers, Orchestra and Choir and where Design and Technology finds its own place in the curriculum to satisfy the curiosity of our budding engineers, scientists and children who just like doing things with their hands.

We are looking for a person who:

• Has a proven track record as an outstanding practitioner
• Will inspire, challenge, motivate and care for staff at all levels
• Will enable each child to reach their full potential
• Will have a rigorous approach in identifying pupil achievement gaps and an innovative approach to addressing these
• Will nurture a strong caring ethos and community spirit in the school
• Has the ability and ambition to manage change and raise standards
• Will maintain, promote and develop the school’s partnership with parents, our three parishes (Greyfriars, St. Anthony of Padua and Corpus Christi) and the wider community
• Will continue to build strong links with other local Catholic and non-Catholic schools
• Has the vision to promote transitions leading to the inclusion of St. Joseph’s in the Oxfordshire Catholic Multi-Academy Company.
