Head Teacher
Start date September 2019
Group 2
Range L13-L19
Number on roll 175 plus 15 nursery

The school was judged to be inadequate by OFSTED in January 2018 but is improving rapidly under the guidance of an executive Head Teacher who took up post in September 2018. The school is now subject to an academisation order, and the diocese has identified as the sponsor academy the St. Catherine of Sienna MAC based in Sandwell. The school is expected to join the MAC in September 2019, by which time we expect it to be in a good position.

This is therefore a time of change. While the post is challenging, it nevertheless offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity to consolidate and build on the improvements which have been made in the past few months.

We are looking for a person who:
• is a practising Catholic with a clear understanding of the nature of Catholic education
• is an outstanding practitioner with an informed knowledge of recent curriculum developments and will articulate a clear vision for the school and demonstrate high levels of leadership and motivational skills
• is comfortable with data management and setting up systems to monitor the progress of each individual pupil

You will have:
• well-behaved children
• a supportive and committed governing body which is now acting effectively as a critical friend
• a dedicated staff who are committed to school improvement
• a school which enjoys strong links with the parish

To arrange a visit to the school and/or obtain an information pack, contact Mrs S Strazzanti by phone or e-mail at the above address.

Closing date: 10 May
Shortlisting: 15 May
Interviews: 20/21 May

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks. You are required, before appointment, to disclose any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975
