St Bonaventure’s Catholic Primary School is a popular, diverse and highly regarded two-form entry school with 420 pupils located in Bishopston, North Bristol. It has an exceptional reputation in both the local and Catholic communities and has consistently appeared in the list of top 10 primary schools in North Bristol in terms of KS2 results.

We are proud of the “Outstanding” rating in our last Diocese inspection. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, we were rated as “Good” and have aspirations to be “Outstanding” in our next inspection.
We place clear emphasis on nurturing the children’s wider personal and academic development. A distinctive feature of the school, identified by Ofsted, is “the shared commitment to educating the “whole child” shining through wherever you step”.

Due to the promotion of our longstanding Deputy Headteacher, the Governing body is looking to recruit an inspirational, highly motivated, practising Catholic Deputy who can start on 1st September 2019.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is a practising Catholic with a firm commitment to their faith and the Catholic ethos of the school
• Is able to lead RE
• Has high aspirations and expectations of learning and behaviour
• Is an outstanding practitioner with the ability to raise the attainment and progress of all children
• Has experience of using data to improve standards.
• Has experience in curriculum innovation and development and can demonstrate their impact on raising standards
• Will provide dedicated support for the Head Teacher in the Catholic and strategic life of the school and has a clear understanding of the distinct nature of Catholic leadership
• Has experience of successful strategic leadership and managing staff at middle or senior management level
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is confident and can demonstrate effective teamwork / collaboration and organisational skills to lead, challenge and support others
• Is motivated to build strong and supportive relationships with pupils, parents, support agencies, governors and staff
• Will become fully involved in the wider development of the school and parish life.

This role will require a teaching commitment.
