St Francis’ Catholic Primary School

Station Road, Nailsea BS48 4PD

The governors, staff and children of St Francis’ Catholic Primary School wish to appoint a new Headteacher from September 2019 to lead the school in the next stage of its development following the retirement of its highly regarded head in August 2018. St Francis’ was rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted in 2008/9 and “Outstanding” in its S48 inspection in January 2015.

The governors wish to appoint a new headteacher who will:
• Be a committed and practising Catholic with an active and living faith who can inspire the growth of faith in others
• Be an individual with a proven track record in a leadership position of helping children and staff achieve their maximum potential
• Build and develop the excellence in standards within the school
• Continue to develop and nurture close links with the local community and increase the number of pupils in the school

We are a one-form entry school (current school roll 183) where children, their family members and staff are all valued as individuals and where everyone (of all faiths and none) is allowed the opportunity to flourish and given chances to excel in work, life and play. We expect all in our community to give of their best in their learning and in their relationships with others. We have strong links with our two parish churches, other local schools and with our community. We attract pupils from an increasingly diverse background which benefits the life of the school.

Visits to the school are welcomed and can be arranged by contacting our Chair of Governors, Ann Tarr, who can also supply further details and an information pack.

Closing date: Thursday 28th February 2019
Shortlisting: Tuesday 5th March 2019
