Job/person summary
St Edward's is an independent school for boys who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

Operating within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clifton, its purpose is to meet the special educational and care needs of boys aged between 9 and 18 years who, because of the challenges they face, have been unable to cope in mainstream schools and other special educational establishments. The pupil complement is typically about 46.

St Edward’s has been consistently rated by Ofsted as Good or Outstanding as to both its care and educational provisions for many years.

Following the retirement of the previous Headteacher we are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic leader, able to support the ethos of the School. They will need to be able to develop the School, and help it to adapt to constantly changing and expanding demands of a wide variety of vulnerable pupils.

The successful applicant needs to be a practising Roman Catholic, evidenced by baptismal certificate and supported by a letter from a parish priest.

The appointment is subject to stringent safer recruitment procedures and a clear Enhanced DBS certificate.

We are committed to promoting a just society that gives everyone an equal chance to learn, work and live free from discrimination and prejudice. Our policy is to support all staff and to eliminate unfair and unlawful discrimination, to advance equality of opportunity for all and foster good relations.
