The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a committed, practising Catholic who will be an inspirational Head teacher.

Holy Name Catholic School offers the successful candidate the opportunity to lead a team of enthusiastic staff in a happy and pleasant environment. The school has good links with the Parish and the wider community, a committed staff, is well resourced and promotes the education of ambitious, capable learners.

We are looking for someone with a clear vision for the school, together with inspirational leadership and a comprehensive understanding of Catholic Education.

The successful candidate will:
• Have a clear understanding of the philosophy, ethos and vision of a Catholic School.
• Have a proven record implementing leadership tasks in a Catholic School.
• Be a faith leader within the school and be able to witness Jesus Christ.
• Have an impact on pupil achievement.
• Raise standards and take the school forward.
• Be committed to developing the partnership within the parish(es).
• Put pupils first and engage with parents.
• Encourage, motivate and support staff and pupils.
• Encourage and further develop the Welsh ethos, culture and heritage.
• Encourage and develop the implementation of emergent technology alongside literacy and numeracy throughout the school.
• Show a deep and thorough knowledge of the 4 strands underpinning the Digital Competency Framework.
• Have a strategic vision of how to lead the school forward in relation to the new Curriculum for Wales, a Curriculum For Life.
• Have the NPQH qualification.

In Wales the Head Teachers’ Qualifications and Registration (Wales) Regulations 2005 and their amendment in 2011 ensures the quality of headship by requiring all head teachers to hold the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) unless they were a head teacher before the Regulations came into force.
