St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School is a popular and successful Catholic primary school, recently judged as maintaining its good status (Ofsted October 2017). We have 421 pupils on roll and a team of professionals dedicated to the needs and achievement of all pupils.

Deputy Head
Salary: L 8-12 (0.6 teaching commitment)

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head to work closely with the Headteacher to inspire, challenge and motivate all members of the school community and move the school forward into its next successful phase.

The successful applicant will be able to show they can lead by example, being an excellent primary practitioner in all aspects of school life. The applicant will be ambitious and determined to improve the school further to provide an outstanding level of education for all.

With drive and a positive outlook, the Deputy Head will help the children and school achieve the best results possible through strategically leading teaching excellence by further developing teaching and learning to ensure standards continue to rise.

We are looking for an individual who:
• Is a practising Catholic;
• Has high expectations of the children in both their behaviour for learning and in terms of achievement;
• Has high expectations of themselves and is committed to fulfilling their responsibilities whilst inspiring and supporting others;
• Will work as part of a strong leadership team to drive school improvement and develop the roles of the new Assistant Heads;
• Is an excellent teacher;
• Is well organised with an eye for detail;
• Can identify, lead and drive school improvement priorities demonstrating both passion and resilience;
• Can analyse a range of data to contribute to strategic planning.
