The children, staff and governors of St David’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated Catholic headteacher to lead our aspirational school and build upon our existing strong foundations. The school is located adjacent to Swansea Bay, a beautiful area at the gateway of the Gower Peninsula, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Due to the retirement of the current Headteacher, the Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational Headteacher, who leads by example and will develop our school to excellence.

The successful candidate will:
• Be a practising and committed Catholic who, as a faith leader will cherish, support and develop our school’s ethos and vision of Catholic education (Strategic Direction)
• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement (Leading Learning and Teaching)
• Be an excellent leader who is able to demonstrate an ability to motivate and enthuse others and manage change effectively (Developing/Working with Others)
• Have high expectations of achievement for all members of the school community (Secures Accountability)
• Be skilled in school improvement strategy, well organised and solutions-focused (Managing the School)
• Have the ability to devise and develop new initiatives and ensure that the impact is fully evaluated (Managing the School)
• Have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and be approachable and a good listener (Developing/Working with Others)
• Have the clarity of thought and resilience to steer this inclusive school community on the next stage of its journey (Strategic Direction)
• Be firmly committed to further enhancing our links with the Diocese, our parishes, the Local Authority, other schools and the wider community (Strengthening Community Focus)

We can offer:
• Happy, enthusiastic children who are eager to learn and a pleasure to teach
• Friendly, dedicated and hard-working staff
• A highly supportive Governing Body
• A commitment to your professional development and wellbeing
• A warm welcome from parents (passionate about the education of their children) and our parish communities, with a strong Catholic ethos
