Start Date: January 2018 Permanent Full Time Group 2 L11 - 18 NOR: 151

Due to the retirement of our inspirational Headteacher we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated leader who will enable our confident pupils to maintain personal and academic high standards, underpinned by a strong Catholic ethos.

Our last section 48 (October 2012) report stated ‘St Mary’s is an outstanding Catholic School where the mission and ethos of Catholic Education underpins all the school does’. There is a strong sense of community in the school. Staff, pupils and governors are justifiably proud of the relationships, dedication and commitment to the shared vision they have for their school. Pupils embrace the Catholic mission and are keen to participate in the life of the school.

St Mary’s is a vibrant welcoming school with a well-established leadership structure in place. Our popular oversubscribed school historically has high academic results, and due to the high levels of dedication and commitment from all staff, has achieved a variety on local and national successes.

The school is well supported by a Governing Body committed to excellence. Our parents, carers, local and wider communities also engage very well with the school.

Our most recent Ofsted report said ‘This is an outstanding school. Pupils are very happy and secure because staff provide excellent care within a highly supportive family-type ethos, based on strong moral values. Leaders and Governors are relentless in their pursuit of excellence.’

The successful candidate will be someone who:
• Is a practising Catholic with a clear vision of Catholic Education
• Will inspire and encourage pupils to achieve success and fulfil their personal potential
• Has excellent interpersonal skills and possess the ability to work productively with staff parents and Governors and build on our existing achievements
• Can demonstrate the vision and drive to continue leading our school into the future
• Will have a secure knowledge and commitment to Safeguarding practices
• Can demonstrate that they have successfully led a whole school development initiative which has had an impact on pupil progress

We can offer you:
• A school with confident, achieving, well behaved pupils who feel safe in the school environment
• Committed and enthusiastic staff dedicated to ensuring each child attains their individual potential
• A strong commitment to the promotion of the Catholic Faith within the school and the local community
• A commitment to ensuring the development of staff for personal and pupil benefit
• An environment where the safety and security of our pupils is the highest priority
• A supportive and dedicated Governing Body
